SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS

Position: Senior Director of Programs
Reports to: President & CEO
Employment Type: Exempt, Full-Time, In Office, 35 hours/week
Salary: $110,000-$120,000

Position Summary:
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Senior Director of Programs will be a key external face of Bridge Street in the community. The Senior Director of Programs will be responsible for the operational success of Bridge Street’s programs, services and activities, ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, quality control, and evaluation. The Senior Director of Programs will be responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day administration, operations, budget and staff of BSDC Program Areas of Youth, Older Adults, Community Engagement, Economic Development, and Strategic Partnerships. The Senior Director of Programs will be a key participant in outreach and seeking out private and public funding sources to enhance current programming and the ongoing development and expansion of program areas by seeking and obtaining new opportunities to sustain and increase the impact of BSDC programming.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Lead and manage BSDC program areas to achieve outcome-driven programming that focuses on meeting community needs.
▪ Serve as a key member of the BSDC Leadership Team, providing strategic direction and oversight as an internal leader of the organization.
▪ Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training, support, succession planning and performance management to build the capabilities and competence of program managers and staff to accomplish goals.
▪ Identify, engage, and build relationships with key stakeholders, leaders and influencers in the community.
▪ Manage all program grants/contracts processes. Facilitate and coordinate grant discussion with funding entities related to budget and compliance, support program leads with reporting requirements.
▪ Prepare and coordinate individual programming budgets, allocations and compliance with grant/contract funding requirements and service deliverables while helping to identify and fill funding gaps.
▪ Identify new opportunities for funding and assist with the development and submission of funding proposals.
▪ Review financial reporting and organize budget monitoring to ensure appropriate utilization of resources in collaboration with BSDC Finance and program leads.
▪ Develop and review work plans with program leads to ensure timely completion of grant deliverables.
▪ Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
▪ Alignment with BSDC’s mission, vision and values of excellence, integrity and passion for service to our community.
▪ Direct experience with one or more of BSDC Program Areas (Youth, Older Adults, Community Engagement, Economic Development, Strategic Partnerships).
▪ Direct experience with and understanding of multiple governmental funding processes, sources, and agencies, including but not limited to, NYC Council Discretionary grants, NYC Department of Youth & Community Development, Department for the Aging, Small Business Services etc.
▪ Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of ten years’ experience in Human Services or related field. Nonprofit experience a must.
▪ Excellent leadership skills and experience managing and growing a diverse staff.
▪ Experience managing the coordination and leadership of a diverse set of program activities.
▪ Additional proficiencies in various computer applications including Excel and advanced MS Office skills comprehensive databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
▪ Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective external and interdepartmental communications and relationships.
▪ Strong organizational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
▪ Ability to work effectively independently and as a highly resourceful team player under pressure and within deadlines.
▪ Ability to anticipate challenges and effectively resolve potential issues through creative problem solving.
▪ Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
▪ Ability to develop rapport and engender trust, exhibit a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Compensation:
Salary range of $110,000-$120,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Bridge Street offers comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, vision insurance and a 403b retirement savings plan.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Director of Development to play a pivotal role in our financial viability, shaping the future, and ensuring the enduring success of our organization. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Development will collaborate with the BSDC Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and staff to help define the organization’s vision and strategic direction. This position will be responsible for devising and executing strategies to secure donors and contributions, providing oversight of the fund development program and development staff, monitoring development activities, and addressing any obstacles that may impede growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a fundraising and development specialist, coupled with extensive management experience in the nonprofit sector or a similar environment. We seek a motivated individual with a talent to solve complex problems, and a genuine passion for the mission, values and vison of Bridge Street Development.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Serve as a key member of the BSDC Leadership Team, providing strategic direction and oversight as an internal leader of the organization.
▪ In collaboration with the CEO, Leadership Team, staff, and governing board, develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to increase revenues and achieve our organizational goals.
▪ Collaborate with the CEO, Leadership Team, staff, and governing board to facilitate the development and implementation of both short and long-term strategic plans.
▪ Nurture relationships to guarantee sustained commitment from donors, partners, and funders, fostering increased support for BSDC’s mission.
▪ Direct development staff research to identify and establish a diverse portfolio of donor sources, including, governmental, philanthropic, social enterprise, corporations and high-net worth individuals to support growth campaigns and the organization’s fundraising appeals and special events.
▪ Create fundraising programs, materials, campaigns and social media strategies designed to attract and retain donors by communicating our mission, values, and impact to targeted audiences.
▪ Develop and implement performance metrics, continually monitoring the results to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the fund development program.
▪ Oversee donation processing, acknowledgement, tracking, data management, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
▪ Manage the operations development staff and function efficiently, and oversee development activities in coordination with staff.
▪ Develop and maintain a donor database, ensuring accurate and timely recording of grant awards, sponsorships and gifts and effective communication with donors.
▪ Serve as an external ambassador and make direct solicitations and presentations on behalf of the organization.
▪ Maintain accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws, as well as the code of ethics for fundraising professionals.
▪ Provide leadership to all fundraising and cultivation events.
▪ Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in development, marketing, business administration, or related field required.
▪ 8+ years of development, fundraising, communications, and management experience in a non-profit organization
▪ Proven track record of relationship management and direct fundraising with philanthropic, social enterprise, individuals, corporations, government entities, and managing a funding portfolio that has grown over time.
▪ Ability to manage and motivate others, collaborate across an organization, work independently, take personal accountability, manage projects, and guide cross-departmental teams to successful outcomes.
▪ Commitment to BSDC’s work, mission, and the population it serves.
▪ Experience in Board, committee, and volunteer management.
▪ Additional proficiencies in various computer applications including Excel and advanced MS Office skills comprehensive databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
▪ Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective external and interdepartmental communications and relationships.
