EMPOWERMENT SUNDAY

Each year, Bridge Street Development Corporation in partnership with the Coalition for the Improvement of Bedford Stuyvesant bring together churches throughout Central Brooklyn to celebrate Empowerment Sunday in the hopes of helping congregrations meet the challenge of surviving one of the toughest economic periods in modern times.

For this year's event on April 29th we will partner with neighborhood churches to discuss the financial crisis affecting our communities.  We are asking participating churches to use Sunday, April 29, 2012 to focus on the resources available to homeowners that will help them keep and maintain their homes, build generational wealth through homeownership as an asset, and to contribute to the stability of the neighborhood. Together, we can link parishioners who are in need of assistance with free counselors, programs and services to help them proactively save their homes after the church services.

The host church for this year's event will be Bishop Hezekiah Walker of theLove Fellowship Tabernacle, "The Kingdom Church" located at 464 Liberty Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
